Robert H. Clark was wounded during the battle.  He was transferred to the Dutch hospital on Java, where he was treated with the other wounded sailors from the USS Marblehead and USS Houston.  He was evacuated from Java by submarine on February 25, 1942.  He was transported to Freemantle, Australia, then moved on to the United States arriving in San Francisco around May 1, 1942.
