Birth: | Sep. 19, 1919 | Death: | Feb. 10, 1942 | George Corbitt was wounded aboard the USS Marblehead. He was cared for by Dr. Corydon Wassel. The incident was later documented in the movie The Story of Dr. Wassell. He was initially buried in a Dutch cemetery on Java. In 1951 his remains were transferred to Arlington National Cemetery.
